Company Overview
Corporate Philosophy
Piezo Sonic supports people’s lives through motor and robotics technologies, aiming to realize a society where people can enjoy life even in the face of injury or illness.

The three arrows represent the three key stakeholders: Piezo Sonic, our partner companies, and our customers. This symbolizes how these three parties come together and collaborate to advance manufacturing, and how the convergence of their technologies gives rise to new innovations.
The Meaning Behind Our Logo
Message from the CEO
Piezo Sonic was founded with the desire to develop robots that support people’s lives and to create a society where humans and robots work together. We aim to “support people’s lives through motor and robotics technology and realize a society where people can enjoy life even if they suffer from injuries or illnesses.”
Our flagship product is the piezo-sonic motor (ultrasonic motor), which is ideal for a world striving to reduce global energy consumption and achieve carbon neutrality.
Piezo-sonic motors are compact yet powerful, with the unique ability to maintain their position with zero standby power. These motors are not only anticipated by JAXA for use in exploration equipment but are also expected to serve as actuators for robots capable of collaborating with humans.
Furthermore, since they do not rely on magnets or coils for operation, they are gaining attention as non-magnetic motors that can operate near MRI machines—which use magnetic fields for imaging—and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, which is sensitive to magnetic fields.
Another business we are promoting in conjunction with our piezo-sonic motor (ultrasonic motor) business is our “Consulting and Development Services” business, which includes robot development using our proprietary technology.
In this business, we are committed to advancing our technology by balancing software and hardware development. Our transport AMR, “Mighty,” which applies “lunar rover rough-terrain driving technology,” has earned high praise as a robot capable of stable operation even on uneven surfaces. Furthermore, in collaboration with over 30 partner manufacturers, we go beyond mere contract development to provide technical support for our customers’ needs and assist in bringing their envisioned products to life.
Representative Director: Kohei Tada
Profile
Graduated from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Chuo University. While at Chuo University, he was involved in the development of motors for space probes as part of a joint research project with JAXA. Subsequently, he spent 10 years engaged in the development of ultrasonic motors at a motor manufacturer that was a partner in that joint research. In the field of robotics technology, including ultrasonic motors, he was responsible for nearly every stage of the process, from mechanical design and drive circuit design to development and manufacturing. In 2017, he went independent and founded Piezo Sonic Co., Ltd., with the philosophy of “aiming for a society where people can enjoy life even if they suffer from injuries or illnesses, and realizing hardware that supports people’s lives.” In addition to developing our own products, we also operate as a hands-on consulting partner dedicated to solving our clients’ challenges.
