Smart City Robot
Mighty-D4
Mighty-D4 combines performance and functionality to support people's daily lives.
Autonomous transport and inspection robot for outdoor use: Mighty-D4
Mighty is a robot that supports outdoor and indoor work by applying the mechanism of a lunar exploration robot and integrating wheels and quadruped walking.
Each component part is modularized for quick unit replacement in case of failure and high customizability.
In addition to automated transport in factories and distribution warehouses, the robot contributes to the realization of a sustainable society by automating inspection and testing tasks in plants, hospitals, and nursing care facilities.

Basic Performance

Unique traveling mode realized by piezosonic motor
Mighty-D4 has a unique steering mechanism equipped with a piezosonic motor.
In addition to the normal traveling mode, Mighty-D4 is equipped with a horizontal traveling mode with the steering fixed at 90° and an in-situ turning mode with the steering fixed at 45°.
Not only can the camera navigate through narrow corridors and L-shaped cranks, but it can also take measurements by utilizing horizontal movement for more realistic imaging.

Superior traveling ability by patented frame mechanism
Mighty-D4 is equipped with a patented frame mechanism based on that of a lunar exploration robot.
The Mighty-D4 can travel stably not only on flat surfaces, but also on long-haired carpets, gravel roads, farmland, and uneven surfaces.
It has the ability to climb slopes of 15 degrees or more and can climb over bumps of up to 12 cm.

Waterproof performance of the undercarriage allows the Mighty-D4 to travel on wet surfaces and surfaces covered with 20 cm of water.
Mighty-D4 can run on water up to the tire diameter (approx. 20 cm).
It can travel in factories that use water, on wet road surfaces, outdoors in puddles and muddy areas, and in tunnels and conduits with up to 20 cm of submerged area.
* The body and the entire Mighty-D4 are not completely waterproof.

Long operation time, such as 24 hours
Mighty-D4 can be operated for 24 hours by replacing the battery (in exchange for a sub-battery).
The expected operating time with standard batteries is 6 to 8 hours (depending on the operating method and the road surface).
As an option, contactless charging and charging at the charging port are also available.

Equipped with a direction indicator that visually shows what Mighty is thinking
Mighty-D4 is equipped with direction indicators at two locations on the front and two locations on the rear that visually indicate the direction in which Mighty is traveling.
These direction indicators can be used to determine the direction in which Mighty is moving during operation and traveling.
It also provides visual confirmation of the start, passing a relay point, and reaching the goal.
Speakers can also be mounted to play music and audio following the execution of an action (optional).

Mighty-D4 can switch between four operation modes: remote control operation using a controller or PC, follow-up operation by recognizing a leading person or moving object, marker detection operation by recognizing a specific marker with a camera, and autonomous operation (SLAM) by using a pre-measured MAP. Mighty-D4 can autonomously travel along a specific route while measuring the surrounding conditions by utilizing LiDAR and cameras.
The Mighty-D4 can recognize people and obstacles using LiDAR, and avoid or stop while carrying cargo or making regular patrols to the destination.
